Comprehensive Autism Evaluations assess social communication, restricted or repetitive behaviors, sensory processing differences, and adaptive functioning. These evaluations integrate developmental history, current functioning, and standardized assessment tools to determine whether criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder are met or whether a person’s presentation is more consistent with another condition. The process emphasizes understanding the individual’s unique profile, rather than focusing solely on deficits.
Autism Evaluations are appropriate for individuals of any age when there are concerns about social interaction, communication differences, rigidity, sensory sensitivities, or developmental delays. They may be sought for diagnostic clarification, access to services, educational or workplace accommodations, or personal understanding. Evaluations are appropriate for young children and adolescents, as well as adults whose presentation may not have been recognized earlier in life.
Dr. Kaskel uses gold-standard assessment tools, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd Edition (ADOS-2), and has extensive experience evaluating autism across the lifespan. Her approach is respectful and developmentally informed. Reports provide clear diagnostic conclusions along with meaningful, individualized recommendations.
